This was everything I had hoped it would be - learning about understanding surf dynamics better so that I can safely navigate the surf when doing a multi-day coastal expedition (some day!). This included group study & discussion around available reports (swell, tide, wind) as well as observation standing on the beach to see how that translated into reality. A significant part of the trip was also coastal navigation with practice rock-gardening, self and partner rescue, exploring caves, and also just playing in the surf. The instructors were all phenomenal and the student:instructor ratio was great, I felt like there was always someone close by if I had a question, to provide feedback on technique, or to spot me if I was doing something above my skill level. Fun camaraderie with other classmates and nice camping in the trees. Had good cell reception with Verizon. Overall great trip. I kept finding myself saying 'This is a peak experience' (an expression I don't really use) - but it really was. Thanks BBB for such a 'peak experience'!

This was a trip I will remember for the rest of my life. Beautiful, educational and filled with adventures and challenges that matched my skill levels. Great team, great food, organized and very well planned. Body Boat Blade is a top notch outfit.

I had an incredible experience. The planets aligned for the conditions and the instructors were not only knowledgeable but also exceptional. Each days lesson of the sea flowed into the next and I felt months of growth in just a short period of time. What a fantastic experience! I had tons of fun surfing, rock gardening, and improving my skills in a safe, supportive environment. Alex and his team encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and enjoy an exhilarating week of paddling with like-minded people. The scenery was spectacular, with lots of sea caves and tunnels to explore. The rental equipment was top-of-the-line. We even saw whales! I had a wonderful week, way beyond expectations, and I’d encourage any serious kayaker to check it out.
